3. used to + infinito, forma l’imperfetto del verbo che segue e indica la continuità di un’azione nel passato. People used to think the world was flat, la gente credeva che il mondo fosse piatto. Alex used to live in Wales, but now he doesn’t, Alex abitava nel Galles, ma ora non più. Fred used to be afraid of the dark, but now he isn’t, Fred aveva paura del buio, ma ora non più.
